Community Updates

Published: February 02, 2022

• There have been sightings of bobcats around the community, so make sure your pets are on a leash, when outside, and keep an eye on your small children, if they are playing outside. Bobcats have been in this area much longer than we have; they come around the creek and wooded area, because it is their natural habitat. Here is the information for City of Carrollton Animal Services:

“If you need an immediate response, you may call our team at (972) 466-3420. If you need immediate assistance after our regular business hours of 8:00 a.m. - 7:00 p.m., you may call our non-emergency dispatch at (972) 466-3333.”

• Please remember to place your trashcans inside your garage within 48 hrs. of pickup; you can be fined up to $50 for a violation.

• We are still having problems with people not picking up after their pets! These people are totally lackadaisical, inconsiderate and irresponsible pet owners. All our pet stations now have garbage cans for waste disposal, and if you are not passing one of our pet stations, while walking your pet, bring your own bags and dispose of it in your own trash. Some people even have the audacity to let their pet defecate right next to a pet station and don’t clean it up! Remember that many of the homes have Ring-type doorbells and can easily catch persons on camera. If you are caught, you will be fined. If your home is a rental, it is your responsibility to inform the tenants about the rules.

• The holiday season is now over, so if you still have your outdoor decorations up, please remove them.
According to the Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions of our community, outdoor decorations are to be removed within 30 days of the holiday.

• Please remember to submit all problems or concerns through the website. Please look over the “Maintenance Responsibility Chart” found on the website under “Governing Documents”, “CCRs 2nd Amend – Filed” to see what is covered by the HOA or is the owner’s responsibility. Here is the direct link: https://www.shopsatprestonwoodhoa.com/Libraries/Governing_Documents/CCCRs-2nd_Amend_FILED.sflb.ashx.

• Sounds like we’re going to get some “winter weather” later in the week, so make sure your outdoor faucets are covered, and if you have kitchen or bathroom plumbing on an outside wall, drip your sink and keep cabinets underneath open, so the warm air can get to your pipes. The HOA is not responsible for any freeze damage.

As always, if you have any questions, please contact me at 469 900-8675. My hours are 10 to 3, Monday -Thursday, and 10 to 2 on Friday.
